Swage Sockets
Holerite cast stainless steel swage sockets provide superior rigging performance and the industry’s widest variety of socket styles. Holerite swage sockets are are available in conventional open and closed styles, and a bail style accommodates shackles or other rigging attachments. ESCO 40SS Stainless Steel The popular ESCO popular 40SS cast stainless steel is formulated specifically for swaging. High initial ductility allows ESCO stainless steel to flow evenly around the wire rope during swaging, for total gripping strength and extremely high crack and fracture resistance. During swaging, ESCO stainless steel work-hardens more than any other swaging steel to provide toughness, on-the-job durability and corrosion resistance. Cold Temperature Durability ESCO 40SS is an austenictic stainless steel alloy that maintains toughness at low temperatures as tough at -60°F as at room temperature. ESCO 40SS swage sockets maintain higher toughness at low temperature than any swaged Carbon Steel Socket. Strict ESCO quality assurance protocols guide each manufacturing phase. Chemical and physical testing ensure design specifications for chemistry, hardness, strength and dimensions. Tapered Shank The ESCO tapered shank provides a gradual but firm swaged grip on rope strands to help dampen vibration and torsion stresses that are common in typical service applications. Longer Rope Life ESCO swage sockets eliminate the heat and acid problems common with zinc sockets problems that can alter the wire rope’s temper. Swaging provides maximum gripping strength with minimum distortion, and the fatigue life of stainless steel swage sockets is measurably superior to that of zinc sockets. Forged Swage Sockets Tooled from special, fine grained forging steel, ESCO forged swage sockets meet all industry standards for performance and deliver superior reliability. Hardness and yield strength are balanced for optimum swageabilty.
